The Language Of Business...

The Common belief is that there is a language peculiar to business, that business language is characterized by words and phrases that make the writer appear intelligent or highly educated. This belief may have come about because so many communications written by business executives and their assistants are verbose, stilted, impersonal, and obscure in meaning.

Actually, the best writers, in or out of the business world are those who don't put on airs or beat around the bush; the worst are those who try to impress their readers whit their cleverness with words, the rich vocabulary, and their "executives". The following memorandum, for example, uses impressiveness-sounding words.
